Hyland’s 2024 Q3 releases

Alfresco's Q3 releases include support for Hyland Automate, which enables solution builders to create content-driven automation and orchestration of enterprise services. This update helps users streamline processes, improve user productivity and accelerate time-to-value. Together with this enhancement, Alfresco and Automate can:

• Enhance cross-functional usability across essential business systems, including CRMs, ERPs and collaboration tools

• Intelligently automate processes, resulting in reduced costs and better productivity organization-wide

• Simplify content-centric process management with low-code automation, enabling rapid development and deployment of dynamic apps in the cloud

Additionally, the latest updates extend Alfresco’s leading security and governance capabilities, with highlights including:

• Alfresco Content Services is now fully OIDC/OAUTH2 compliant, including support for Identity Provider extensions

• Support for Hyland Identity and Access Management services

• Legal holds are enhanced with end user support within Alfresco Digital Workspace and simplified tools for applying records and retention properties for sets of documents

• Support for Hyland RPA that further enables governance policies to be automated

Hyland’s Web UI Framework enhancements introduce additional features that reduce the complexity of creating and customizing applications, making it accessible to nontechnical users. Now, it will be even easier to create custom web applications that enhance productivity and streamline processes.

With these updates, users will find:

• Simplified application development, making the creation and customization of applications more accessible to nontechnical users

• Enhanced Hyland OnBase functionality with new features and improved user interactions

• Improved interaction with system data for users who are external to OnBase

The latest version of Hyland’s AP Automation for Oracle JD Edwards includes new features for processing invoices from contract purchase orders (CPOs). These features include validation of line items and retainage against JD Edwards, as well as an intuitive OnBase WorkView coding form with fields added for Retained Amount and Percentage retained.

Some details include:

• Enablement of contract purchase orders to hold back payment from each invoice until it is confirmed that work has been completed. As invoices come in for each line item associated with the CPO, that percentage is held back during processing.

• Validation of line items and retainage against JD Edwards for correct and timely payments based on contract agreements.

• Additional AP automation capabilities for JD Edwards customers at no additional charge.

The Q3 release of Brainware for Invoices offers easier methods to install, use and administer Brainware for optimal intelligent data capture results.

With the 24.1 version, Brainware becomes a standalone processing engine for capturing and extracting invoice data, then passing that data straight through to OnBase or Perceptive Content. Notable outcomes of this update include:

• A no-touch solution that ensures validation happens within one system

• Direct passing of validation-required metadata for invoices to either OnBase or Perceptive Content

• An intelligent system, which should increase in accuracy as it learns, leading to better invoice data capture results over time

• Less administration and validation; more straight-through processing of invoices

• Better data capture results for service-type line items

• Compatibility with Brainware ALM (Learnset Manager) to further improve data extraction

• Enhanced support for SAP and Workday securing settings, which will help reduce reprocessing when ERP credentials change
